René Descartes made many advancements in his fields of math, science, and philosophy. His ideas are still revered today as some of the greatest and are all still used in modern studies. Because of his inventions of the Cartesian coordinate system, analytic geometry, and the publishing of Discourse on the Method, he is one of the most important scholars there is and was. He made discoveries that transformed mathematics, and he has contributed so much to modern teachings that he is worthy of the prestigious Nobel Prize.
